Portsmouth Port is just off the M27 at Jct 12, follow the signs for Continental Ferry Port. Also the home for the Royal Navy. If you are travelling via rail, there is a direct service to and from London Waterloo, national Express also operate a frequent service. Le Havre Port is also convenient for the major road networks into France and Paris being 200km away. Foot passengers can hop on-board the local transport, which will take you into the centre of town.
There are 2 sailings a day, morning and evening, the evening crossing with Côte dAlbâtre is the slower vessel and takes approx 8hrs and departs Portsmouth at 23:00hrs arriving Le Havre at 08:00. The Norman Arrow sailing departs at 08:30hrs and arrives in just over 3hrs 15minutes.
Returning from Le Havre the 2 crossings are noticably different. Côte dAlbâtre departs at 17:00hrs and the Norman Arrow leaves at 18:30hrs.
Self check-in has now been introduced to the Portsmouth - Le Havre route with other destinations to follow, making this easy and convenient for passengers. As with any check-in procedures please allow additional time before scheduled departure. Also if pets are travelling, allow extra time for all documentation and certificates to be verified. This must be adhered to as LD Lines and all other ferry operators are regulated and authorised by DEFRA (Department of the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs)
